Closing that mac

I recently got a VGA to TV adapter from Radio shack, which also includes component output. I quite like the picture quality, especially when you use an emulator with it. But, I'd like to be able to close my G4 notebook and use the TV as the the main monitor. The manual says that you need to attach both a USB mouse and keyboard in order to close it. But, can you a bluetooth mouse and keyobard instead? I only have two usb ports, and I don't want to clutter up the space with cables. Thanks!
